Xīxì Taiwan
A 25-year-old from Atlanta, GA, USA heads to Taiwan to live,
work, and frolic... and lives to tell about it.

Introduction - Welcome to Xīxì Taiwan!
Ní hǎo! My name is Andy Drinkard, and I thank you for visiting this blog! I left my home in Atlanta, GA for Taiwan on July 22nd, 2009, with my friend, Brittany, and we have both begun fantastic jobs teaching English to Taiwanese children. I am situated in Hsinchu, a small city 80km southwest of Taipei, while Brittany is working in Taipei (in a community called Tianmu).

This blog has two main purposes: (1) to log the highlights of my life here for those who are following me and (2) to provide information that would be useful to somebody seeking to come to Taiwan to visit or to live. If there's a third purpose, it's to give me a place to post about anything at all that's on my mind, so be prepared for a little college football talk from time to time!

This journey has been in the works for awhile, and it's great to finally be out here on Isla Formosa ("Beautiful Island" - the name given by Portuguese explorers). There's so much to tell - one post at a time!
